How does saliva suddenly spurt out from under the tongue when opening the mouth?

This is called Gleeking. In this process, saliva squirts out from under our tongue. There are thousands of glands in our mouth and in the muscles around it. Gleeking usually happens as a result of saliva being released from our sublingual gland. Sometimes it can also happen when the sublingual gland is accidentally pressed, causing saliva to be released. If you lift your tongue and look in a mirror, you can also see this saliva on the mirror's surface. Also, when we eat something, saliva released from our salivary glands can come out this way too.
